ALBI Grade (Albumin-Bilirubin) for Hepatocellular Carcinoma (HCC)

HepatologyOncologyPrognosisBeta toolThis tool is in beta. It has undergone internal validation but still requires additional testing. Always confirm the data entered and the results obtained before clinical use. It should not be used as the sole basis for clinical decisions.
Accepts g/L or g/dL; values are converted to g/L before applying the original formula.
Accepts µmol/L or mg/dL; values are converted to µmol/L before applying the original formula.

Clinical noticeEducational estimate of liver functional reserve and prognosis only. Interpret ALBI with the full hepatocellular-carcinoma assessment and specialist clinical judgment.

Context and use

ALBI formula

ALBI = (0.66 × log10(total bilirubin in µmol/L)) + (-0.085 × albumin in g/L)

Convert bilirubin mg/dL × 17.1 and albumin g/dL × 10 before applying the original coefficients.

Apply thresholds to the unrounded score: Grade 1 ≤ -2.60; Grade 2 > -2.60 and ≤ -1.39; Grade 3 > -1.39.
