Signs of envenomation presentUse Yes only when local tissue injury, hematologic toxicity, or systemic toxicity attributable to crotalid envenomation is present.
Initial control achievedUse Yes only after CroFab treatment and reassessment have already achieved initial control.

Context and use

If no signs of envenomation are present: no CroFab dosing recommendation from this algorithm.

If signs are present and initial control has not been achieved: CroFab 4-12 vials IV to achieve initial control, with reassessment after each infusion.

If initial control has already been achieved: CroFab 2 vials IV every 6 hours for 3 doses, beginning 6 hours after initial control.
