Cardiovascular Risk AssessmentPreventive CardiologyBeta toolThis tool is in beta. It has undergone internal validation but still requires additional testing. Always confirm the data entered and the results obtained before clinical use. It should not be used as the sole basis for clinical decisions.

Age at assessment. Standard SCORE2 is intended only for adults aged 40 through 69 years.

Selects the female or male SCORE2 model stratum. Handling of values outside the two source-reported strata is not specified by the source.

Systolic blood pressure used in the centered continuous predictor csbp.

Total cholesterol used in the centered continuous predictor ctchol. The electronic equation uses total cholesterol, rather than a non-HDL substitute.

HDL cholesterol used in the centered continuous predictor chdl. The electronic equation uses HDL cholesterol, rather than a non-HDL substitute.

European CVD-risk region selecting the source-defined regional recalibration.

Current smokerCurrent smoking status. true denotes current smoker; false denotes other smoking status.
Previous cardiovascular diseaseApplicability flag: standard SCORE2 is intended only for persons without previous cardiovascular disease.
DiabetesApplicability flag: standard SCORE2 is intended only for persons without diabetes. SCORE2-Diabetes is excluded from this utility.

Clinical noticeSex-specific, regionally recalibrated SCORE2 estimate of 10-year CVD risk.

Context and use

SCORE2 combines age, current smoking, systolic blood pressure, total cholesterol, and HDL cholesterol in a sex-specific model recalibrated for the selected European region. The result is the estimated 10-year risk of first-onset fatal or non-fatal cardiovascular disease.
